Branding a Zimbabwean Culinary Superstar
Caroline Gundu, better known as Caz, is an award-winning Zimbabwean-born, British-raised food entrepreneur on a mission to showcase traditional Zimbabwean cuisine with a modern twist. Her platform, Cooking with Caz (CWC), has seen a meteoric rise in popularity online, creating a need for a cohesive brand to fully capitalize on her momentum.
Challenge: Not Just Another Food Influencer
While CWC’s culinary creations are remarkable, Caroline’s brand lacks a distinctive presence. We recognized the need for a strong, unique identity to set her apart and position her for future opportunities as she grows as an influencer and entrepreneur in the culinary space.
Solution
Understanding Caroline’s vision and goals, we aimed to showcase her unique personality and Zimbabwean heritage while clarifying her distinct brand voice. We developed a brand system that revolves around CWC’s culinary flair, featuring chevrons inspired by the Great Zimbabwe Ruins architecture and Binga baskets. Bold serif typography and a sauce smear-inspired font for emphasis, combined with vibrant, food-inspired colors, to create a dynamic and appealing brand. This visual identity is further enriched with powerful video and photography that encapsulate all that CWC represents.
